Spicy Marinara Sauce
Makes about 4 cups
Cooking spray
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1 (28-oz) can crushed tomatoes
2 Tbsp tomato paste
1 Tbsp fresh oregano, chopped
1 Tbsp fresh basil, chopped
1 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp freshly ground pepper
3 Tbsp dry red wine
1 tsp red chile flakes
1 Tbsp Penzey dried bell peppers (optional)
1 Tbsp onion flakes (optional)
1/2 cup water
1/2 tsp sugar substitute
- Combine all ingredients in saucepan. Bring to a boil.
- Cover reduce heat to simmer and cook for 1-2 hours adding more water if needed to prevent from scorching.
