One Pan Pasta with Basil & Tomatoes

A quick and easy one pot meal that comes together quickly and makes its own sauce.
6 oz. linguine
6 oz. grape tomatoes, halved or quartered if large
1/2 onion, thinly sliced (about 1 cups)

2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
1/4 tsp. red-pepper flakes or to taste
1 sprig basil, plus torn leaves for garnish
1 Tbsp. olive oil
1 tsp. Kosher salt

1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
2 1/2 cups water
2 Tbsp. freshly grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

2 tsp. garlic oil or olive oil for serving, optional
- Combine pasta, tomatoes, onion, garlic, red-pepper flakes, basil, oil, salt, pepper, and water in a straight-sided skillet.
- Bring to a boil over high heat.
- Cook stirring and turning pasta frequently with tongs, until pasta is al dente and water has nearly evaporated, about 9 minutes.
- Season to taste with salt and pepper; Garnish with basil.
- Serve with oil and Parmesan.
